Bare Escentuals Buxom Liner: A Review

I haven't been doing much as far as pulled together looks because honestly, I just haven't had the time nor energy. I did place an online order with Sephora about 2 weeks ago though because I just had a lemming for a couple new products. (I ordered the Urban Decay Cocoa flavored body powder, Bare Escentuals Buxom liner in Leatherette, and Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy)

The product I was most excited for was by far the Buxom liner, and I hate to admit it, but I am SO disappointed with this product. I saw TiffanyD's review on YT and have been lusting after it since then but I really should have just held off.

I can deal with a gel liner thats a little bit "watery" and takes a bit longer to dry.. but this was just so much worse than I was expecting. Seriously. It was much more slippery than I expected it to be and definitely didn't stay on my waterline for more than 5 minutes max. On top of that, trying to get a clean, opaque line was near impossible. I had to layer and layer and then layer some more and I kid you not, my liner looked BROWN. I had used MAC's Smolder and Urban Decay's Zero on my lower lash line on different occasions and in comparison to that it looked like I had black liner on the bottom and a medium-deep brown on the top. Not a good look. On top of that, this stuff didn't last more than 3 hours. From the time I would put it on, go to class, and drive back home there was barely any liner left on my lid... and if there was, it was super splotchy and just bad looking. Not to mention it very easily migrated into my crease instead of staying on my upper lash line--so if you have really hooded eyes like I do you may want to reconsider. (this is not to say I've never had fluidline migrate a bit on me, but that was usually only when I was really rushing for time and didn't allow it to dry properly... I made a point to let this have time to dry because I knew ahead of time that it was a bit on the watery side)

I am not going to return it as I really like the fact that it's supposed to be good for your lashes and whatnot (I'm definitely not expecting any results though after how the product has performed thus far), and will probably "salvage" it by using it as a black cream base, for days when I'm only going to have makeup on for a short period of time, or for days when I feel like taking the extra time to set it with a black powder eyeshadow.

Has anyone else tried this product? How did it work for you?

Update

So nothing this week has been going my way. Does anyone else have weeks like that? My daughter got me sick so I spent the first half of the week ODing on OJ and Airborne. Then on top of that waiting for my boyfriend to get home from Afghanistan has been a nightmare in itself. He started his trip back to the US literally almost a week ago but it's been setback after setback thanks to the weather and some other stuff. Needless to say, I haven't been wearing anything noteworthy at all this week. I was hoping to be able to have a super cute V-Day/homecoming look to show you but that isn't going to happen since the boy isn't set to even get to the US until Monday.

It's always something I guess!

In an effort to boost my morale, I placed a Nordstroms.com order for MAC's Viva Glam Gaga, Viva Glam Cyndi, and Bubblegum lippie. I know I won't get them until probably late next week (or the one after) but atleast it gives me something to look forward to! :)

Anybody else try these lippies yet? Thoughts?

Long Time, No Blog

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around much.. the start of a new school semester combined with my daughter being sick (which I am now getting) just hasn't been kind to my blogging time. I already have a few projects to do for school and I'm anxiously awaiting my boyfriends return home from Afghanistan sometime soon for R&R, so I think February may be a bit of a "dry month" as far as blog posts go. But at least I'm telling you guys ahead of time!

Just 2 quick things I wanted to blog about:
I found some over the knee high heeled boots that I love! I just got them the other day and haven't had an excuse to wear them, but I'm going to put together an outfit to show you guys this week sometime.

I think I am in love with Revlon's new PhotoFinish foundation. I really think this may replace MAC Studio Fix Fluid for my go-to foundation. I was really nervous because my skin is more towards the combo/oily side so I wasn't sure if it would accentuate any oiliness, but I've been pleasantly surprised since I've started wearing it. I'm going to attempt to do a "Look Of The Day" post for Mon-Thurs this week (The 4 days that I have classes every week), so here's to hoping I can do it!

Anyone have any cool plans for the Superbowl tonight? Or are you not even watching it? I'm just excited to eat tons of snacks, although the night will probably be mostly spent on homework.

MAC Haul/Outfit Of The Day

I was about to finish my Forever21 Haul post that I started the other day but realized that most of the items that I loved the most weren't even on the site anymore. :(

Sooooo, I decided to have a mini MAC depotting party so that I could get some new lippies from the Back To MAC program... I ended up getting Blankety, Creme Cup, and Myself. I had been trying to wear more bold lippies that I own (Show Orchid, LadyBug, Lickable, etc) but I have had a bit of a "setback" as of late.... last Wednesday I got braces again. Thankfully I only need them for about 6 months or so but in the mean time I'm having a hard time getting used to wearing lip products since I am constantly getting nervous about getting product on the braces (the brackets are clear, btw, which is why I think I am so scared haha). Hopefully over time I will get comfortable enough with them to go back to being a bit more daring though!

Today was my first day of the spring semester at college and I wanted to get a picture of my outfit before school but Adrianna (my daughter) and I were just running a bit late this morning and time didn't allow for it. However, I did manage to find the top I wore from the F21 site and figured I could still show you all what I wore today.

Top: F21 Grommet Knit Top in Grey (I had a long dark grey cami on underneath as well)
Jeans: Dark Wash Skinny Jeans by Bullhead (PacSun)
Boots: Nine West "Rontae" (Seriously you guys, THE BEST BOOTS EVER. They are SO comfy and I love them even more than the other pair I had posted about before. The best part is that they have the little straps in the back that can be adjusted to fit your calf-which is my biggest pet peeve because it's hard to find boots that are small enough in the calves to fit snugly) I got mine at Macy's, but I didn't see them on their website.

I hope you all had a great weekend! I spent most of mine working, but it was good nonetheless! :)

Shoe Dazzle Update

In this post I mentioned that I had placed my ShoeDazzle order but didn't want to let you all know which ones I chose until got them.

So, which ones did I choose?

dun, dun, dunnnnnnnn...

BOTH!

I def like the heels better than the boots, but they are both equally comfortable.

I also stopped by TJ Maxx yesterday and picked up 3 more pairs of shoes...

I thought these were SO cute and loved the bow detail [they're by Paris Hilton]

Same as the others, but obv black instead of red. ;)

Buying the JS heels made me realize that I have a black pair of heels by JS that I seem to have misplaced. :( I must try to find them!
